2024 Range Rover Evoque: Design Updates, Enhanced Tech
JLR introduces an updated version of its top-rated compact SUV, which will potentially be the final iteration running on traditional fuel.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) recently unveiled several anticipated enhancements to the second-generation Range Rover Evoque, set to be released as the 2024 model. Interested buyers can now place their orders for the updated premium compact SUV, which comes with a starting price of £40,080. Notably, the pricing has been raised by more than £5,000 compared to the previous model.
While certain external aspects have been adjusted, the primary enhancements of the 2024 Evoque are concentrated on its interior. The onboard technology and materials have undergone significant, readily apparent improvements.
Interior
The focal point of this updated interior is a newly designed 11.4-inch curved infotainment touchscreen that appears to float, showcasing the brand's innovative Pivi Pro operating system. The inclusion of Amazon Alexa voice recognition adds an extra level of convenience. Notably, unlike the previous version of the Evoque, all vehicle functions are now seamlessly integrated into this singular screen. The secondary screen and climate controls have been eliminated, resulting in a sleek and simplified aesthetic. In fact, the only physical control remaining on the centre console is the gear selector.

The company has additionally taken steps to enhance the calibre of the materials employed, aligning them with the high standards found in the bigger siblings of the Evoque. Furthermore, they have prioritised environmentally-friendly practices. Consequently, Range Rover persistently urges customers to explore their sustainable textile options created in collaboration with Danish company Kvadrat while still providing traditional leather alternatives, at least for now.
Exterior
The noticeable alterations on the outside include a fresh front grille and more streamlined headlights and taillights. The modest revamp of the front end is mainly attributed to Range Rover's updated stylistic strategy, aiming to align the Evoque with its counterparts within the lineup. However, these modifications extend beyond mere aesthetics. The upgraded headlights boast enhanced Pixel LEDs and incorporate the brand's most recent matrix dimming technology.

Powertrains
You'll find a continuation of the D165 and D200 diesel engines, as well as the P200 and P250 petrol engines. Additionally, all variants except for the basic D165 S manual now feature four-wheel-drive and mild-hybrid powertrains as standard. While the trim levels remain unchanged, the nomenclature has been slightly modified, as the 'R-Dynamic' name has been simplified to 'Dynamic.'
The P300e plug-in hybrid is still available for purchase, although its battery composition has undergone minor adjustments. These changes have led to slightly improved electric-only driving capacity, with an additional mile added, bringing the total range to 39 miles.
Range Rover might have chosen to implement a subtle refresh in response to Jaguar Land Rover's objective of achieving complete electrification across its range in the coming years. The arrival of an all-electric Range Rover is anticipated by 2024, and plans are underway to introduce brand-new EV models to replace the Velar and Evoque, with the first unveiling scheduled for 2025.
Currently, the updated Evoque faces competition from various high-end mid-size SUVs like the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, and even its counterpart, the Jaguar E-Pace. As one of JLR's top-selling vehicles, the company hopes that this revamp will maintain stable sales until its upcoming all-electric third-generation version is launched.
