Powertrain
Important enhancements have been implemented in the Hybrid 130 engine. This new engine is a variation of the existing 1.5-litre hybrid petrol system found in the current Yaris model, which was introduced in 2020. However, there have been improvements in power, with an increase from 114bhp to 129bhp, and torque, which has gone up from 141Nm to 185Nm.
Naturally, these enhancements result in better acceleration for the Hybrid 130, as it now takes 9.2 seconds to go from 0 to 62mph, compared to the previous Hybrid 115 model, which required 9.7 seconds. However, the increase in power has impacted CO2 emissions, which rose to 116g/km from the previous 99g/km.
The Yaris will continue to offer its original Hybrid 115 powertrain as an option, while the Hybrid 130 configuration will become the standard choice for the GR Sport and Premium Edition models.
Interior

Regarding the interior, the Yaris will now come with a digital instrument panel available in either seven or 12.3 inches, along with a central touchscreen measuring either nine or 10.5 inches, depending on the trim level chosen. Toyota states they have enhanced the infotainment system for a more user-friendly and responsive interface. The new Yaris will also come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features.
Safety Features
Safety has seen notable advancements as Toyota has unveiled an upgraded camera and radar system capable of extended and broader scanning capabilities. The Lane Keep Assist function has undergone recalibration to provide a more balanced experience, and a new feature called 'Overtake Prevention Support' has been implemented to prevent inadvertent undertakings.
Availability
The upcoming Yaris models will be available for ordering starting in September, and customers can expect to receive their vehicles by early 2024. The Yaris lineup will include a special edition called the 'Premiere Edition,' positioned as the top-tier trim level. The Premiere Edition features an attractive Neptune Blue two-tone paint finish, 17-inch alloy wheels, stylish blue stitching on the seats, dash, and door cards with blue accents, and it will be equipped with the new Hybrid 130 powertrain.
In addition, the Premiere Edition offers a convenient 'smart digital key' feature that allows users to link it to Toyota's MyT smartphone app, enabling keyless entry and ignition.
