6% of Brits Can't Resist - Land Rover Defender 110 Soars in Demand
In March, the Land Rover Defender 110 saw the highest demand among new cars in the UK, according to fresh data from Auto Trader.
Despite comprising only 1% of the new car inventory on Auto Trader, the Defender garnered 6% of all new car enquiries to retailers last month, as per the research findings.
There's potentially uplifting news ahead for JLR, following recent denials of a car mishap.
Auto Trader's recent Top 10 features other JLR models like Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, each contributing 3% of total inquiries.
Auto Trader's data indicates that JLR brands are leading in converting advert views into retailer inquiries for March.
Despite representing just 6% of the new stock on Auto Trader, the car manufacturer from the Midlands received almost 17% of enquiries last month.
Additionally, other popular models included the VW Golf and four BMWs: the 1-Series, 5-Series, M3, and X5.
In March, the Honda e:Ny1 emerged as the most sought-after electric car on Auto Trader, capturing 2% of total inquiries and 11% of EV inquiries, surpassing the MG4. Other popular EVs included the Peugeot E-208, Audi Q4 e-tron, and BMWi5.
In terms of popularity, Land Rover emerged as the top choice among car manufacturers, capturing a 17% share of enquiries, surpassing BMW (16%), Volkswagen (9%), and Audi (7%).
Auto Trader highlighted the notable performance of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD, experiencing a remarkable surge of over 131% in advert views and an 82% increase in inquiries over the past six months.
