April's Hottest Ride - Ford Puma Leads the Pack, While Corsa Reigns Supreme for 2023
In April, the Ford Puma claimed the top spot on the list of best-selling cars, demonstrating a significant surge in sales for this compact SUV.
Ford has shifted its focus towards meeting the demand for the highly lucrative Puma model, as they recently announced plans to discontinue sales of the Fiesta from next month.
A total of 3,570 Pumas left dealerships in April, securing the model's position as the third most popular car sold in 2023 thus far.
In April, the Vauxhall Corsa achieved significant sales success by selling 3,203 units, securing its position as the second most sought-after car. Moreover, with a total of 14,034 units finding owners thus far, it continues to dominate the car market as the best-selling vehicle of the year.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), responsible for compiling the latest data on car registrations, disclosed this information during a recent briefing. Notably, during the same event, the SMMT also revised its sales projections for the entire year.
The SMMT stated that it presently anticipates new vehicle enrollments will attain 1.83 million this year, an increase from 1.79 million, as obstacles in the supply chain alleviate and more new automobiles come out of the assembly lines.
During the month of April, a combined sum of 132,990 vehicles was purchased, signifying an 11.6 percent surge compared to the same month in the preceding year.
