Car Dealerships Dealing With Covid-19

New Lockdown

Rise In Demand

Buy Online

The Recap

It’s no secret that 2020 has changed the way that we think about cars.

Sadly, awesome news like the Tesla Model Y and the new BMW 4 Series has been overshadowed. Instead, we’re all still talking about Covid in the automotive industry.

And for a good reason.

New Lockdown

With the new lockdown on Thursday 5th November, dealerships have had to adjust to a new way of interacting with customers.

Customers will now have to rely on remote buying and contactless delivery. Because of this, they’ve also come to expect more from dealerships.

By this, we mean more than simply expecting your new car’s interior to be sanitised on delivery!

Now, more than ever, customers are looking to trusted car dealerships who are communicative and transparent.

Rise In Demand

But that’s not to say that there’s been a decline in demand!

With the sudden need to keep our distance from one another, public transport has become less and less viable.

Instead, what we’ve seen is an uptake in demand for quality second-hand cars.

In fact, dealerships have reported 17 to 18% sales rises (either last year or last month)!

After all, not everyone is working from home, and people still need to get to the office.

Whilst they want to make a solid investment in a quality second-hand car, it might not be the best time to buy new.

So what’s the solution?

Buy Online

The obvious solution is to buy online. However, how do you know who to trust if you can’t go and see the car yourself?

Whether you’re looking for a mid-range car under £10,000 (like a Fiat, Kia, or Toyota), or an upgrade (Audi, Jaguar, or Mercedez) under £25,000 - we recommend checking out Hilton Car Supermarket.

They scan answer a few of the top questions we have when looking to buy a quality second-hand car, like:

  • Simple stuff - Does it have a logbook?
  • Harder stuff - What’s the fuel efficiency like?
  • Hard stuff - What’s the legroom like in the Jaguar XE?

If you want answers to questions like that, you could even consider:

  • Using compare car tools
  • Asking to jump on a call (or even a video call to see the car)
  • Checking out video reviews of that model

That way you can make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck with a quality second-hand car.

The Recap

In 2020, not only the way in which we can buy a second-hand car has changed but where we can buy one!

With customers no longer able to go into dealerships, test drive, or even drive away their new car, dealerships have had to adapt.

With the move online, however, how can you know which dealership to trust?

You want to make sure when buying a second-hand car that you’re getting a model that you want, and that suits your needs.

Without seeing it in person, you’ll need to rely on a dealership with good authority, reviews, and customer service.

If you’re looking to buy or sell a quality used car in the current climate, you’ll want to get in touch with Hilton Car Supermarket today!

They have finance options and are a RAC approved dealer that can take care of all your automotive needs.

Why not give them a call to get in touch with their Milton Keynes or London branch ?
