Do you know the which car is best of SUV's?

2022 Porsche Macan’s Incremental Updates Make It One of The Best Family SUVs

Porsche introduced the 2022 Macan in July last year, boasting more power, altered suspension, and an overhauled cabin. The biggest surprise, however, was the absence of the Turbo model. Although that was not good news for performance lovers, Porsche came with a solution. The GTS now stands at the top of the tier possessing the 434-horsepower (324-kilowatt) variant of the twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 that was available in the Turbo.

Throw in the elective Sport Chrono Package, and the claimed run to 60 mph (97 km/h) just takes 4.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 169 mph (272 km/h). It is basically two miles per hour quicker than the Turbo variant, so it means the GTS performs better.

Performance

Porsche didn’t only make the range-topper more powerful, the engineers upped the power output of all the variants. The entry-level model’s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder now offers an improved 261 hp (195 kW) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters).

The Macan S now replaces the 2021 GTS featuring a 375-hp (280-kW) unit of the updated V6. All mills send power to the four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox.

What’s good about the 2022 Macan GTS?

Speaking of the flagship GTS, it comes standard with Porsche Surface Coated Brakes, adaptive air suspension with a marginally lesser ride height, and a 15 per cent tougher suspension than the earlier GTS.

Besides, Porsche offers the Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. Furthermore, the visual tweaks to the GTS include Sport Design side mirrors with gloss black, 21-inch GT Design wheels with high-performance tires, and 18-way sport seats. Following the dark theme, we find black elements on the side skirts and the front and rear fascias.

Exterior Design

Talking about the outlook, we can see some minor visual changes starting with integrated air intakes on the front with trim polished in the body shade. The three narrow outlets at the base of the front blend into one non-stop strip, and the whole design appears a little more boxy and balanced.

The noticeable side blades have a distinctive surface that Porsche compares to a 3D element. At the back, we find a black diffuser pushed upwards. All models come with standard LED headlights and can benefit from seven new wheel styles, beginning in either 19-inch or 21-inch sizes.

Interior

Similar to the exterior updates, the interior changes are also minor. The biggest tweak is the reshaped centre console with haptic touch elements for a neater appearance while also presenting extra storage. A smaller gear stalk stretches from the console, and the drivers would be happy to have a new steering wheel borrowed from the 911.

You can see a 10.9-inch display and an analog clock in the middle of the dash. A range of driver-assist and safety features like park assist, lane-keep assist, etc., are there to make journeys convenient and safer.

Price

Porsche demands £48,970 for the entry-level 2022 Macan, with the S costing only £5,660 more. AutoExpress says that the Macan S can retain 70 per cent of its value after three years of use, so buying it makes perfect sense. All in all, the 2022 Porsche Macan is a well-rounded crossover featuring gorgeous looks, superb handling, and ample power to conquer most terrains.
