Increased Demand For UK Supercars

Surge in Demand for UK's Supercars

The UK’s car market is booming as the buyers borrow record money to purchase luxury and supercars. Finance company JBR Capital has reported the highest level of lending for luxury vehicles in May 2021. Buyers have used the loaned sum to buy McLarens, Ferraris, Aston Martins, and Porsches lately.

As per JBR Capital’s data, Porsche remained the most financed marque with the 911 (991) model favoured by most buyers, followed by the Macan and the Cayenne.

The surge in Porsche's demand is a trickledown effect of Taycan’s increasing requests in the first quarter of 2021.

Besides supercars, luxury SUVs like Rolls Royce Cullinan are also in high demand in the UK market. In the summer, people love to roam around in their sports cars, especially in their convertibles.

The inflated sales of supercars and luxury vehicles in a month means that the British have shelled out over £200bn in the past year.

Thanks to the savings accumulated by businessmen and riches during the lockdown, the dealerships are witnessing swelled sales of luxury vehicles. Hence, the post-lockdown reserves are the backbone for this sudden boom in the luxury car market.

According to JBR Capital, the high-end car market is witnessing a surge in demand more than ever. Founder of the company, Darren Selig, commented: “Demand for high-performance sports cars, supercars, and prestige vehicles continues to be incredibly strong.”

“We experienced a record March and April – and May has now eclipsed those months.”

“Without doubt, there has been pent-up demand, and as restrictions have eased, this has been unleashed onto the market with our dealer introducers reporting luxury cars being snapped up quickly and a lack of stock.”

“With customers unable to take expensive overseas holidays, many are looking to treat themselves.”

“Plus, many are fortunate enough to have more money in their pockets through lockdown savings too.”

“Looking further ahead to the summer months, we believe this trend will only continue.”

Furthermore, JBR Capital examined the sales numbers for May 2021 and revealed the top 10 famous luxury cars. The list continues below.

1.     Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Darren added: “Stealing the lead over the V12 Vanquish, which has been our clients’ most popular Aston Martin up until now, the compact, stylish and rapid V8 Vantage has been a huge hit.”

2.     Bentley Continental

3.     Ferrari 458 Italia

4.     Lamborghini Huracan

Daren said: "Taking over the top spot from the Aventador, the Huracan made up more than 50 per cent of all Lamborghinis financed, with the Urus luxury SUV accounting for a third of proposals.”

5.     Land Rover Defender

6.     McLaren 570s

7.     Mercedes-AMG GT

Darren added: "Our clients love AMG's models, from the C to the G Class, but right now, it's the two-seater 911-rivalling GT supercar that's winning sales thanks to its combination of V8 grunt and striking looks."

8.     Porsche 911 (991)

9.     Range Rover Sport

10.  Rolls-Royce Cullinan

Darren revealed: “This might be one of the most controversial models ever made by the Goodwood-based luxury brand but, like the Lamborghini Urus, these are extremely hot property right now.”
