INEOS Grenadier Goes On Sale In The UK, Price Starts at £49,000
INEOS has started selling the Grenadier 4x4 in the UK in four flavours to suit the needs of different customers. The Toyota Land Cruiser, Mercedes G-Class, and Land Rover Defender alternative is a lot cheaper than its rivals, with prices starting at £49,000. Those who have already placed their orders can configure their vehicles online now. However, production will start in July 2022.
Grenadier Models
INEOS offers the Grenadier in a two-seater Utility Wagon, a five-seater station wagon, and a duo of flagship Trialmaster and Fieldmaster variants. All the models are powered by either a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol or a 3.0-litre diesel engine, sourced from BMW.
INEOS Grenadier Commercial
The base two-seat Grenadier Commercial starts at £49,000, featuring an all-wheel-drive and a vast cargo area that can even accommodate a Euro pallet.
INEOS Grenadier Five-seater
At a starting price of £52,000, INEOS adds three more seats to the Commercial wagon. You can carry more people now as well as haul heavy objects.
INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster Edition
The Grenadier Trailmaster Edition, costing £59,000, is an ideal option for those seeking a regular off-roader. Making it more capable on the beaten path is INEOS’s ‘Rough Pack’ boasting front and rear locking differential, all-terrain tyres, a snorkel, and an auxiliary battery.
Besides these off-road-focused facilities, INEOS has also added some luxuries like a reverse camera, heated door mirrors, and USB ports that are part of 'Smooth Pack.'
INEOS GrenadierFieldmaster Edition
Costing the same as the Trailmaster, the Fieldmaster Edition comes with added extravagance. The Smooth Pack comes standard, featuring heated leather seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, and carpet floor mats.
Regardless of which Grenadier model you choose, all of them are off-road-capable and come equipped with pre-wired electrical connections for things like spotlights and winches.
Design
You cannot mistake the new INEOS Grenadier with any other vehicle on the market. Its utilitarian and boxy design is augmented by LED front lights, a solid front bumper, and steel wheels. At the rear, it receives circular taillights, a squared-off boot opening, and a door-mounted spare wheel to give a solid retro feel we desire in modern 4x4s.
Interior and Infotainment
The function-over-form philosophy is also evident with a clear and straightforward layout. The seats are made by Recaro, and the floor is lined in rubber with a number of grab handles and a few overhead controls.
However, the interior isn’t as plain and simple as the exterior. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto takes center stage.
Powertrains
As stated earlier, INEOS offers two engine choices. The BMW-sourced 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine generates 285hp and 450Nm of torque, while the 3.0-litre diesel yields 249hp and 550Nm of torque.
Both engines mate to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a permanent all-wheel-drive system. The powertrain ensures an ideal grip for off-roading excursions.
