Most Exciting Future Cars Coming In The Next Five Years

The future of cars is rolling in fast. Some of them? Insanely powerful. Others? Silent, electric beasts. One thing's for sure—things are about to get wild.

Aehra SUV

Ever wondered what happens when Italian design meets raw electric power? The Aehra SUV is the answer. Priced at a hefty £155,000, this sleek machine doesn’t just turn heads—it twists necks. It’s built to carry four NBA-sized humans with ease and, thanks to its three-motor setup, it punches out a monstrous 794bhp.

Aehra Sedan

Aehra isn’t stopping at SUVs. Enter the Aehra Sedan, a more streamlined sibling boasting a mind-blowing 497-mile range. Engineering chief Franco Cimatti, a former Lotus wizard, says it's all about "basic physics." That means aerodynamics done right, efficiency cranked to the max.

Alfa Romeo 4E

Alfa’s got big plans. Thautocaruke 4E will be their shining EV star, a halo model leading the charge as they ditch gas for good. Alfa’s product boss Daniel Guzzafame teases that a new Alfa Spider will be possible once five EVs are in the lineup. So, don’t hold your breath—it won’t drop before 2027.

Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Giulia isn’t going anywhere, but it is going electric. Built on Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform, it keeps its sporty DNA. The Quadrifoglio variant is a staggering 1000bhp. That’s hypercar territory.

Rumors swirl. Alfa’s design chief Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos has hinted at a new coupé inspired by the legendary SZ. If Alfa keeps winning under Stellantis, it might just make it to production. Expect it to be a Giulia variant.

Alfa’s Big Electric Saloon

Target: BMW 5 Series. Market: China and North America. Arrival: Around 2027. Alfa’s large electric saloon, built on the STLA Large platform, will stretch between 4.76m and 5.13m, with enough power to hit 62mph in 2 seconds. That’s ludicrous.

Alpine A110 EV

One of the best sports cars of the past decade is going electric. Alpine originally planned to team up with Lotus, but those talks fizzled out. The result is the Alpine É-ternité concept—a 239bhp electric sports car with a 261-mile range.

Alpine A310

Remember the Alpine A310 from the '70s? It’s making a comeback—as a stylish electric GT. Expected in 2027, it’ll share its bones with the next A110 but offer 2+2 seating, like a Porsche Cayman meets a 911.

Alpine Electric SUVs

Alpine wants in on the SUV game. Their D- and E-segment electric SUVs will carry the A110’s sporty spirit into a more practical body. Expect torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, and a focus on agility over just straight-line speed.

Ariel Hipercar

You like crazy? The Ariel Hipercar brings it. Four electric motors deliver a face-melting 1180bhp. And get this—a gas-turbine range extender keeps the battery juiced up. It looks like a fighter jet and drives like one, too.

Ariel E-Nomad

Think Ariel Nomad, but electric. Same off-road insanity, just without the gas engine. 281bhp, 360lb-ft torque, rear-wheel drive, and a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds. It’ll cost about £10,000 more than the petrol Nomad, though.

Aston Martin Electric SUV

Aston Martin’s first EV is an SUV. And it’s borrowing battery tech from Lucid. That means serious power—Lucid’s current drive units churn out up to 670bhp while weighing just 74kg. Expect something quick and luxurious.

Aston Martin ‘Project Rambo’

Mercedes G-Class, meet your match. Aston is playing with the idea of a rugged off-roader, internally called ‘Project Rambo’—a nod to the wild Lamborghini LM002. No confirmation yet, but if it happens, expect something beastly.

Audi A3 Successor

Audi’s next-gen A3 will ride on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. Electric? Probably. But Audi might also keep a petrol version around, at least for a while.

Audi Electric 4x4

A true off-road Audi is in the works. Designed to battle the Land Rover Defender, it might use the same platform as Scout’s upcoming SUV. High ground clearance, steep departure angles—it’s serious.

Audi R8 Successor

Goodbye V10, hello electrons. Audi’s next R8 will be all-electric, sharing tech with Porsche. Development is full steam ahead, and it’ll likely be the most powerful Audi ever.

Audi TT

The petrol TT is dead, but the name lives on. Audi Sport is deep into an “intense concept phase” for an electric TT, set to land in 5-10 years. Managing director Rolf Michl promises it’ll be “different but emotional.”

Bentley Urban SUV

Bentley’s first EV will be a luxury urban SUV, smaller than the Bentayga. One of 10 plug-in models they plan to release over the next decade, it’s built for those who want opulence in a more compact form.

BMW 3 Series Neue Klasse

BMW’s Neue Klasse isn’t just a concept—it’s the future. The new 3 Series will be a tech powerhouse, promising 30% more range, 30% faster charging, and 25% better efficiency.

BMW M3 Neue Klasse

An electric M3 is happening. BMW’s crazy new ‘Heart of Joy’ chassis control computer will supposedly make it handle better than today’s petrol M3. Expect fireworks.

Caterham Project V

Caterham’s shock reveal at Goodwood 2023 was an electric sports car. 1190kg, 249-mile range, and priced under £80k. Production could start in 2026, with only 2000 units a year.

Citroën 2CV

After 30 years, Citroën’s iconic 2CV is coming back. This retro-inspired city car is still in the early design phase, but it's happening. Nostalgia, meet electricity.

Ford Mustang 4dr

Ford’s turning the Mustang into a sub-brand. That means more models, including a four-door muscle car. Think Porsche 911 playbook—affordable base models and high-end limited editions.

Genesis Neolun

Genesis teased the Neolun, a luxury SUV inspired by Korean moon jars. It’ll likely share its underpinnings with the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 7, meaning solid range and high-tech features.

GMA T33

Gordon Murray’s second supercar, the T33, is a “practical” alternative to the T50. No fan-assisted aerodynamics, just a screaming Cosworth V12. If you could own one supercar, Murray says, this should be it.

Honda 0 Series

Honda’s 0 Series will redefine their EVs, focusing on efficiency and engagement. The first model drops in 2026, with Civic and Jazz EVs following later in the decade.

Honda NSX EV

Honda’s working on an electric NSX, CEO Toshihiro Mibe confirmed. It’ll be nothing like the past NSXs—something entirely new. Expect it late in the decade.

Honda’s Tesla Model 3 Rival

A mass-market Honda EV is coming. Aimed at the Tesla Model 3, it’s all about lightness and simplicity. One of seven new Honda EVs hitting the road by 2030.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 N

Hyundai’s next N car is the Ioniq 6 N, a 641bhp electric monster inspired by the RN22e concept. Think Ioniq 5 N’s insanity, but in a sleeker sedan body.

And that’s just scratching the surface. The next five years are absolute chaos. In the best way possible.
