If you’re more interested in power and speed, go with the M550i. This model has a 530bhp V8 petrol engine, accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds and comes with four-wheel drive as standard.

The BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid models include the 530e and 545e, which can be driven approximately 30 miles on electric power alone and provide very low running costs.
