If you are planning on heading out on a long journey, whether it be for work or pleasure, here are some tips on how to prepare your car so it is in tip top shape and ready for the road.

Checks 

Check your lights, your brakes, your fluids and the overall condition of the car. You don’t want to be caught short when you are out on the road and so you should give it the once over, or twice over to make sure everything is in working order before you set off. 

Filling up 

Both fuel and air in this case. Check your tyre pressure and fuel gauge and fill up as needed. You don’t want to be stopping ten minutes into the trip so a little bit of planning can help here. 

Packing 

Make sure you pack for every eventuality so if you do get stuck on route, you have appropriate clothing, shoes and thing to keep warm with, as well as food and refreshments. 

Get covered

Breakdown cover is always a good idea so should you end up in a sticky situation, you are covered and can easily get help!
